Is InstanTuition offering group tuition or 1-to-1 tuition? We provide a unique approach: personalised one-on-one tuition within a group setting. Here is how it works: Individualised Learning Approach: Every student has a unique learning style and academic needs. We tailor lessons to address their specific strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Thoughtful Class Allocation: Students are carefully assigned to classes based on their learning needs, ensuring a supportive and effective classroom environment. Maximised Learning Efficiency: Unlike traditional classrooms where students learn at the same pace, our approach allows each student to receive targeted guidance, ensuring they fully grasp concepts before moving forward. This leads to deeper understanding, better retention, and improved academic confidence.

When does the term start at InstanTuition? If my child starts in December, will the lessons repeat in January when other students join in?Due to our unique teaching style, we do not follow a fixed term schedule. Lessons are not repeated unless a student takes a long break and forgets previously learned content. As our classes provide one-to-one specialised attention, each student’s learning content is tailored to their needs. If your child starts before the school term, they will stay ahead of those who enroll later, giving them more revision time—an essential advantage for exam preparation.

If my child is unable to attend lesson due to school activities eg. National school game, does InstanTution offer recorded lesson? We could only allow make-up classes for reasons supported by valid documents, such as a medical certificate (MC) or a school notification letter/consent form. We do not record our lessons as we do not follow a traditional classroom setting like in schools. Each student receives one-on-one specialised attention, so there is no single recorded lesson applicable to all students.

Does my child’s class at InstanTuition consist of students all from the same level and doing the same subject? Each class consists of students at different levels studying different subjects, as our teachers do not teach the class as a whole. We provide one-to-one specialised attention to every student, tailoring lessons to their individual learning needs and styles. The traditional classroom setting in schools follows a one-size-fits-all approach, which may not suit all students—some struggle to keep up with the teacher’s pace, while others find it too slow. With our unique teaching method, we can adapt to each student’s pace and learning requirements while still conducting lessons in a group setting.

How does InstanTuition's unique teaching method work in a group setting? <continued from Q5>To ensure our unique teaching method works effectively, we always start by understanding the student's past assessment results and current performance in school. Based on this information, we would allocate a time slot that is best suited to their learning needs. While our teaching method may differ from what many are familiar with, students choose us because the traditional classroom setting does not work for them. At InstanTuition, we provide a customised teaching approach and tailored materials, which make learning more in-depth, productive, and effective. Feel free to check out our Google reviews to read our success stories or reach out if you have any further questions!

Does InstanTuition offer a lower rate for students under FAS?We want all students to have the same opportunity to learn and grow with us. In this regard, we do not want to deny any student the chance to seek help. If you wish to apply for assistance, please reach out to us with a copy of the FAS approval letter issued by the student's school.

Is combined science for O level / N level considered as one or two subjects?Although Combined Science is recognised as one subject for O-Level/N-Level, the content is considered too extensive to cover both Physics and Chemistry in a 1.5-hour lesson. Therefore, Combined Physics and Combined Chemistry will be treated as two separate subjects for tuition.
-
Does InstanTuition Science tuition cover practical?Regular tuition classes do not cover practical aspects. However, we offer a separate workshop during the Sec 4 June holidays, focusing on tips and strategies to arrive at accurate answers, even without the use of apparatus. Please note that this workshop is a separate course, and additional fees will apply for students who choose to enrol.

does my child need E-Math tuition when he/she is already taking A-Math tuition? We would like to highlight that it is not recommended to only focus on A-Math, as the content for E-Math and A-Math is completely different. A common misconception is that E-Math serves as the foundation for A-Math. We have had many students who progressed from Sec 2 to Sec 3, initially doing both E-Math and A-Math tuition, but later chose to stop E-Math tuition when they felt confident after their Sec 2 EOY exam. However, their Sec 3 end-of-year exam results often show that while they excel in A-Math (due to continued tuition), their performance in E-Math drops as they stopped tuition after the end of Sec 2. Therefore, we highly recommend students enrolling in both E-Math and A-Math tuition to ensure a consistent progress in both subjects.
